Such as ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, TUSAŞ, HAVELSAN and İŞBİR Elektrik; ASPİLSAN Energy is also a company of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TSKGV) and 98.32% of its shares belong to TAFF. ASPİLSAN Energy started to produce radio batteries in 1985; In 1993, it started to produce aviation and helicopter batteries using Ni-Cd chemistry. Until 1996, ASPİLSAN Energy produced rechargeable Ni-Cd batteries under Varta license.

ASPİLSAN Energy's main activities and solutions are as follows: • INR18650 Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Cylindrical Battery Production • Sales of Batteries with Different Chemistry • Radio and Weapon Battery Systems • Telecommunication Batteries • Medical Battery Systems • Mini EDS and Energy Storage Systems • Aviation Battery Systems and Battery Batteries (Lithium-Ion and Nickel Cadmium) • Marine Battery Systems • Rail Battery Systems • Robotics and Autonomous Battery Systems • Engineering and Testing Services • Electronic Card Array ASPİLSAN Enerji is Turkey's first and only company that produces aviation/helicopter battery systems in Ni-Cd chemistry, as well as the country's largest battery manufacturer. Three R&D centers are located in Kayseri, Ankara and Istanbul. Battery Systems R&D Center in Kayseri; Electronics R&D Center and Cell Design and Development R&D Center in Ankara; There is a Fuel Cell and Hydrogen R&D Center in Istanbul.

ASPİLSAN Energy offers all solutions and services with the following quality management certificates; • EASA Part – 21 POA: European Aviation Safety Agency Part – 21 Production Organization Approval • EASA Part – 21 ADOA: European Aviation Safety Agency Design Organization Alternative Procedures Approval • IRIS ISO 22163: International Rail Industry Standard • AQAP 2110: NATO Design, Quality Assurance Requirement for Development and Production• ISO 9001:2015: 9001 Standard for Quality Management Systems of the International Organization for Standardization• ISO 14001: Environmental Management Systems• ISO 45001: Occupational Health and Safety Management ASPİLSAN Energy started mass production of the Lithium Ion Rechargeable Cylindrical Cell ASPİLSAN INR18650A28 in June 2022. It is the first company to mass produce lithium-ion 18650 batteries in Europe. The design, development and production of the cell are completely local and national. All intellectual and industrial property rights of the cell belong to ASPİLSAN Energy.

The chemistry and composition of ASPİLSAN INR18650A28 is nickel-rich lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt oxide. Its size is 18650; Its capacity is 2900 mAh and nominal voltage is 3.68V. ASPİLSAN Energy's lithium ion 18650 cell has proven to have a higher discharge rate and the ability to operate at lower temperatures compared to similar capacity cells of well-known certified brands.

The annual production capacity of the lithium ion cell production facility is 220 MWh. The production line has the capacity to produce 21,600,000 cells per year. The facility infrastructure and production line have been designed and built to produce not only cells in NMC chemistry, but also 18650 and 21700 lithium ion cells in NCA, LFP, LCO, LMO and LTO chemistries.

The safety and performance certificates received for the ASPİLSAN INR18650A28 cell are as follows.• Undot38.3: Safety Test Containing Standard for International Air Transportation• IEC 62133-2: Standard Containing User Electronics Safety Testing• IEC 61960-3: Standard Containing User Electronics Performance TestingLithium ion cells produced by ASPİLSAN Enerji; It can be used in radio systems, signal jammers, robotic and weapon systems, power tools, medical batteries, hybrid vehicles, smart textile product batteries, electronic bicycles and scooters, forklifts, UPS systems and energy storage systems. In addition to its existing product portfolio, ASPİLSAN Energy designs and develops project-based products for the needs of its customers.
