DURATEK has been designing, producing and marketing its epoxy, polyurethane and acrylic based system with its almost 50 years of experience in polymer chemistry. DURATEK is 100% Turkish company and its headquarter and production facility are based in Gebze Organised Industrial Zone (GOSB). Construction, marine, composite and defense industries are the main industries for DURATEK. DURATEK’s product pallet for defense industry can be summarized as following.
1. Composite Products:
DURATEK has epoxy based lamination resins suitable for different application techniques such as hand lamination, vacuum bagging, vacuum infusion, RTM, L-RTM, filament winding, centrifugal casting and pultrusion. DURATEK also provides epoxy and polyurethane based structural adhesives for composites industry. These products can be used in different application fields such as marine vessels, wind turbine blades, defense industry products such as rocket bodies. Almost every structural product of DURATEK is approved by DNV-GL, Lloyd’s Register or Rina.
2. PRC Floor Coating for the Floors of Naval Ships:
The floors of the ships of the naval ships belonging to the Turkish Navy and the Coast Guard have been coated with DURATEK’s PRC system. This system consists of several layers of epoxy and polyurethane based coats. It’s fire retardancy, low smoke toxicity and low smoke density properties are approved according to IMO Res. MSC.61 (67) - (FTP Code) Annex 1 Part 2 and Part 5, IMO MSC / Circ. 1120, IMO Res. MSC.307(88) - (2010 FTP Code) Section 8 standards by Lloyd’s Register. DURATEK’s PRC system also has a NATO number: T9967.
3. Nonskid Helipad Coating
DURATEK’s helipad coating was previously applied on Turkish Naval Ship Muavenet and on 167 meter Dubai Yacht, which was constructed as Platinum Project. New version of it is developed together with Gölcük Naval Shipyard. This version was applied on TCG FATIH Naval Ship with the help of HELIPLAT. Duratek’s nonskid helipad coating completed its trial period successfully and the Strategic Collaboration Agreement for the product had been signed with the Directorate General of Naval Shipyards. It was applied on first LHD of Navy, TCG ANADOLU, TCG DERYA (DIMDEG), TCG İSTANBUL, Naval Ships of the Turkish Coast Guard (TCSG YASAM, TCSG UMUT, TCSG DOST, TCSG GUVEN) and Qatar Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV). 
Duratek’s nonskid helipad coating’s physical, mechanical (static abrasion resistance, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, etc.) and chemical properties tested according to MIL PRF-24667C standards by national and international institutions. This product has fire retardancy, low smoke toxicity and low smoke density properties as well. These properties are certified according to IMO MSC 61(67) Part 2 and 5.
4. Epoxy and Polyurethane Based Paints for Steel Surfaces
DURATEK’s epoxy and polyurethane based anticorrosive and UV resistant paints can be used on floors with light or heavy traffic, ballast, fuel, fresh or waste water tanks and other steel surfaces.
DURATEK has a membership to or is a board member of the following NGO’s: Turkish Composite Manufacturer’s Association, SA-HA Istanbul, ENSİA, ARUS, Turkish Corrosion Association, TUREB, BOSAD, TKSD, GOSBSAD, İMMİB, Kocaeli Chamber of Industry, and Gebze Chamber of Commerce.
