Founded in 1984, Baykar focused on developing national and original unmanned aerial vehicles and their subsystems in parallel with the paradigm shift in the aviation world. Within the scope of R&D studies, it developed the first national and unique unmanned aerial vehicles that entered the inventory of Turkish security forces. Baykar is shaping the sky of the future with its approximately 1 million hours of flight experience and its young engineer team.
Bayraktar TB2 UAV, developed by Baykar, has determined the fate of battles in a wide geography from Azerbaijan to Libya, from Ukraine to Ethiopia. Baykar, which has achieved great export success with the Bayraktar TB2 UAV, which changed the nature of war and has more than 800 thousand hours of successful flight experience, continues its journey with the 8-ton Bayraktar KIZILELMA, Türkiye's first unmanned combat aircraft, starting from the 6-kilogram Bayraktar Mini UAV. Baykar has signed export agreements with 34 countries, 33 countries for the Bayraktar TB2 SİHA, and 9 countries for the Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA so far.
Baykar, which has been carrying out all its projects with its own resources since the beginning of the UAV R&D process in 2003, has obtained 83% of all its revenues from exports. According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) in 2021, 2022 and 2023, it became the export leader of the defense and aviation industry. In 2023, Baykar will export 1.8 billion dollars; It made 1/3 of the exports in the defense and aerospace sector alone.
Today, 97.5% of the contracts signed by Baykar, the world's largest UAV exporter, are export-based.
