DATUM A.Ş. specializes in the design and production of mini submarines and marine test systems. Our team of experienced naval architects, mechanical engineers, control and electrical engineers, headquartered in ITU and operating in Istanbul, has skills in shipbuilding, submarine, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, composites and software design.
The roots of DATUM date back to 2004, when a group of engineering students from different faculties of Istanbul Technical University came together and founded the ITU Solar Boat Team. The team built 3 solar boats between 2007 and 2012 and won many international awards, including a world championship trophy. DATUM A.Ş.
was founded in 2013 by members of the ITU Solar Boat Team to design and build mini submarines and marine test systems. Since its establishment in 2013, DATUM has designed, manufactured and implemented various marine test systems and equipment, including planar motion mechanisms, free motion maneuvering systems and submarine model test systems. DATUM signed a strategic partnership with İTÜNOVA (Tech Transfer Office) of Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ).
