GEKATEK Engineering Services Ltd., established in June 2019 within the Karadeniz Technical University Technology Park, providing engineering and consulting services in welding technology and non-destructive testing, carrying out ship design and engineering in accordance with customer requests and requirements, and organizing theoretical and practical engineering training tailored to customer needs through its expert staff.

In this context, GEKATEK;

Within the scope of Welding Technology;

• Preparation and approval of WPS (EN ISO 15609; Welding Procedure Specification) and WPQR (EN ISO 15614; Qualification and Specification of Welding Procedures),
• Weld design,
• Determination of material type, consumables, and welding method,
• Determination of welding sequence and application methods,
• Determination of procedures related to repair welding,
• Conducting damage and root cause analyses

Within the scope of non-destructive testing;

• Visual inspection of welds in accordance with the EN ISO 17637 standard,
• Penetrant inspection of welds in accordance with the EN ISO 3452 standard,
• Magnetic testing of welds in accordance with the EN ISO 9934 standard,
• Ultrasonic inspection of welds and sheet thickness measurements in accordance with the EN ISO 16810 standard

Within the scope of Ship Design and Engineering;

• Ship modeling,
• Conducting nesting and workshop activities,
• Preparation of layout drawings,
• Performing launch calculations

and provides technical consulting services in these areas to its partner companies.
