SSB EYDEP
About
The Industrial Competence Assessment and Support Program (EYDEP) was initiated in 2017 by the
Secretariat of Defense Industries with the objective of assessing the industrial competency
inventories of companies operating in, or aspiring to enter, the defense industry. Based on these
assessments, the program aims to support the development of such companies by providing
mentorship and targeted assistance in areas identified as requiring improvement.
Within this framework, EYDEP serves the following key functions:
• It constitutes a formal entry mechanism for companies seeking to participate in the defense
industry.
• It provides a comprehensive evaluation system to determine the readiness levels of companies
for engagement in the sector.
• It acts as a catalyst for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to enhance their capabilities,
achieve competitiveness in international markets, and ensure long-term sustainability.
• It establishes a common framework that facilitates effective communication and alignment
between prime contractors and subcontractors.
• It offers a standardized and sector-wide accepted evaluation methodology.
• It functions as a structured development platform that supports the formulation of strategic
roadmaps, enabling companies to evolve into integrators within the defense ecosystem.
