TÜBİTAK UZAY
About
The product portfolio of TÜBİTAK UZAY includes BİLSAT, RASAT, GÖKTÜRK-2 and İMECE satellites that have successfully served our country in the field of earth observation since 2001. Two operational Earth observation satellites, GÖKTÜRK-2 and İMECE consist of subsystems and components, whose design, production and integration processes were carried out in-house.
The most important proof of the reliability of these subsystems and the relevant AIT processes (production, integration and testing) used in their development is the RASAT satellite, which has recently completed its service life and was retired. The RASAT satellite, which had a design life of three years, was successfully operated for an impressive 11 years period.
Our latest significant success, TÜRKSAT 6A, the first indigenously-developed national telecommunications satellite of Türkiye, was launched to space and placed into geostationary Earth orbit (GEO) in July 2024. Following the successful completion of all in-orbit tests, TÜRKSAT 6A was commissioned in April 2025 and entered service.
In addition to developing five satellites that have successfully operated in space (both LEO and GEO), TÜBİTAK UZAY is also at the epicenter of productive cooperation and collaboration at both national and international level in areas such as technology transfer, AIT services and consultancy.
