About
Turkish Aircraft Industry Joint Stock Partnership (TAI) was established on June 28, 1973, within the Ministry of Industry and Technology, in order to reduce Turkey's foreign dependency in the defense industry. With the decision to use F-16 aircraft to meet the Turkish Air Force's warplane needs; TUSAŞ Aviation and Space Industries Inc. was established by TAI in 1984 to produce the F-16 aircraft, integrate the systems on the aircraft, carry out flight tests and deliver it to our Air Force. (TAI) was established as a Turkish-US joint investment company for 25 years.
Before the 25-year period was completed, foreign shares of TAI were purchased by Turkish shareholders in 2005 and the company was restructured. In this context, TAI and TUSAŞ merged and formed TUSAŞ – Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. It has expanded its activities under its umbrella and has become Turkey's technology center in the development, modernization, production, system integration and life cycle support processes of aviation and space industry systems. TAI, which is among the top hundred global players in the aviation and space industry, depending on the project topics; It is organized under six strategic business centers: • Structural Group, • Aircraft Group, • Helicopter Group, • Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Systems Group, • Space Systems Group, • National Combat Aircraft (MMU) Group.
