DESAN Shipyard operates under the umbrella of the Kaptanoğlu Group of Companies, which has over a century of maritime experience.

DESAN Shipyard is one of Türkiye’s leading shipyards, with extensive experience and capabilities in both commercial and naval shipbuilding, as well as in repair, maintenance, and modernization.

It holds the “Naval Ship Production Permit Certificate” issued by the Ministry of National Defence, along with the “Facility Security Clearance Certificates” at the levels of “NATIONAL SECRET” and “NATO SECRET.”

By closely following sector dynamics and through continuous training and investments, DESAN Shipyard achieved a milestone in 1999 by building Türkiye’s first turnkey IMO II chemical tanker. Subsequently, within the scope of commercial newbuilding activities, multi-purpose logistics support vessels, chemical tankers, general cargo ships, and oil tankers have been constructed.

ATLAS Shipyard, operating in the Kocaeli Free Zone, joined the Group in December 2024 through a 100% share transfer. Overseas newbuilding projects are primarily carried out at this facility.
