Karel created the electronic telephone switchboard market in Turkey with its original designs in 1986, introduced PBX products to this market, and became a pioneer in Turkey's transition from electro-mechanical systems to electronic communication systems in the field of communication. Established with 100% domestic capital, Karel has Turkey's most advanced R&D and world-class production facilities and standards in the field of communication electronics. Today, it is Turkey's market leading brand that exports products and technology to more than 30 countries. It is shown as one of the brands in the "Turkey's 100 Most Valuable Brands" list prepared by Brand-Finance, one of the world's known and trusted institutions. Karel is one of the 1000 largest industrial enterprises in Turkey. The success of Karel, which has approximately 2000 employees and a public and transparent corporate management, is measured by creating a world-scale company by competing with the world's giant manufacturing companies of countries with developed economies in a sector such as telecommunications, which requires great R&D power and investment and where underdeveloped countries are not even users. According to all International and National Research Institute reports, it is by far the market leader in Turkey in terms of PBX. Today, more than 700 thousand businesses use Karel power plants. Approximately 50% of workplace communication traffic in Turkey occurs through Karel systems. According to the results of the Informatics 500 Research, which is Turkey's most important Informatics research and published every year, it was chosen first in the Türkiye PBX category and the Türkiye-Based Manufacturer category. According to international research reports, in addition to being the market leader in the Middle East and Africa Region, it is one of the 3 largest PBX manufacturers in Europe and the 15 largest PBX manufacturers in the world. It is the company with the highest penetration and effective distribution channel in this field in Turkey, with more than 300 Authorized Dealers and Services in all 81 provinces. Along with communication solutions, it increases the added value it offers by integrating and projecting different solutions such as security systems, apartment speech systems, alarm systems, card access systems, IP DECT communication systems, nurse call systems. Karel develops and produces wired and wireless communication systems with various technologies, features and capacities in the field of telecommunication, which is its main activity, and sells these products in domestic and international markets and carries out after-sales service organizations. The main products are private telephone switchboards and their peripheral units in small, medium and large capacities in the superstructure class, IP call centers, and rural area switchboards and interconnection switchboards in the infrastructure class. Karel, which follows technology closely and is a pioneer, has reinforced this with the most advanced communication technologies. In addition, Karel operates in the sales and project-based applications of products and solutions for video communication and security systems, burglar alarm systems, apartment speech systems, cloud and M2M markets. Karel produces its products domestically through its distribution channel consisting of its own authorized dealers, and abroad through distributor companies. Karel also imports some complementary products within the scope of its telecommunications activities. Thanks to its collaborations with various foreign companies, Karel also carries out turnkey projects for public and private sector organizations on communication infrastructure. In addition to supplying products to telecom operators, Karel also takes part in service projects and provides field maintenance and repair services to Türk Telekom and Vodafone in 60 provinces across Türkiye. Within the scope of its projects, the General Directorate of Security has been establishing Urban Security Management Systems (Mobese), which have been put into service in more than 40 places to date. In a similar context, the installation and commissioning of Urban Security Management Systems in major provincial centers such as Istanbul, Izmir, Bursa, Adana and Gaziantep are carried out by the Corporate Projects Group under the project of the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries. Again, by this group, TEDES projects such as Red Light Violation and Speed Violation systems are carried out on the basis of revenue sharing established in Edirne and Çorum Osmancık as the General Directorate of Security, Traffic Electronic Control System.
